On April 13, an F2 tornado devastated the Caddo Mounds State Historic Site in Alto, Texas. It left one person dead and caused dozens of injuries. Parts the site's museum was destroyed.

Austin art space Pump Project has announced that over the next six months it will be be collaborating with Cloud Tree Studios & Gallery to host a series of long-term and pop-up exhibitions and performances.

The grants offer artists up to $2,000 for small-scale projects and professional development. 

This latest grant joins a series of other Texas-based relief efforts that have followed devastating hurricanes in recent years.

'Förg in Venice' will be on view May 11 through August 23, 2019 at the Palazzo Contarini Polignac in Venice.

The stipend for the program is $6,000, with an additional $10,000 offered as a project budget.

The awards range from $15,000 to $50,000 and aren't limited to one particular form of writing.

For the first time, the Rabkin Foundation has awarded a lifetime achievement award of $50,000 to the New York Times Co-Chief Art Critic Roberta Smith.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation granted $500,000 to the M-AAA to fund the pilot program.

Known primarily for his graphic style and print works, Cruz Ortiz is a staple in the city's art scene, participating in exhibitions and in city events with his printmaking shop Snake Hawk Press.
