DiverseWorks, a multidisciplinary arts space in Houston, has announced the upcoming deadline for their annual Project Freeway Fellowship Program.

This week: monoprints in Lockhart, tintype photographs in College Station, a group exhibition investigating issues related to land in Houston, and more.

The Idea Fund has awarded twelve projects spearheaded by Houston-based artists $5,000 each.

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has awarded a total of $4.1 million to 49 museums and arts organizations through its Fall 2021 grants. Houston nonprofits DiverseWorks, FotoFest, and The Menil Collection are among the recipients.  

Round 14 of the grant has been reimagined as an opportunity to support artist-driven projects that emphasize cultural and social equity.

Artists include Vincent Valdez, Guerrilla Girls, and Jenny Holzer, and Texas art spaces include Ballroom Marfa, the Blanton, DiverseWorks, the Fort Worth Modern, the Nasher, and The Contemporary Austin.

The dates for Common Field's newly adapted online Convening conference are April 23 - May 3.

The Foundation's Houston program partners are Aurora Picture Show, DiverseWorks, and Project Row Houses.

The Idea Fund's open call deadline is Monday, November 4. There will be a last-minute Facebook Live Q+A, October 28, 2019, 3:00-4:30 pm

On September 1, Ashley DeHoyos began her new position as Curator at DiverseWorks.

The fellowship runs for seven months and includes a $5,000 honorarium.
