The registry will act as an online directory of Latinx creatives who practice in all disciplines, including writers, visual artists, musicians, poets, dancers, and filmmakers. 

One of the benefits of exhibiting at Art League Houston is that the organization is W.A.G.E. Certified, meaning that the organization equitably compensates artists.

For 2019, Deasil has announced seven new projects across Texas.

Now in its 15th year, the annual festival is again bringing in performers and groups from across the world, while still keeping a place for local and regional acts on its roster.

In the spirit of Mardi Gras, the island's two main art spaces — the Galveston Arts Center and the Galveston Artist Residency — have found their own ways to embrace the event's many traditions. 

The four individuals, who will inhabit the organization's live/work spaces, will use their time in the Panhandle to hone their craft and create new projects and bodies of work.

As per usual, performances for Marfa Myths will span venues across the town, including the Marfa Studio of the Arts, the Chinati Foundation's Arena, The Capri, and the Marfa Visitor Center, among others.

The gallery, which has since 2013 been located in the Flatbed Press building in East Austin, came to a crossroads last year when Flatbed found out that its master lease on the building wouldn't be renewed, in order to make way for redevelopment.

Organizations from across America — including all 50 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico — were chosen from the NEA's applicant pool, and were given more than $27 million in funding.

Bill Lassiter was known as a patron who managed to collect some of the city's best artists on a modest income.

These works, which are now on view in SAMA's contemporary arts galleries, help flesh out the institution's ever-growing holdings of works by living artists. 

The four days of the event will include workshops, lectures, panel discussions, a keynote lecture by Mari Carmen Ramirez, the Wortham Curator of Latino American Art at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and other opportunities to meet with conference attendees.

The university regularly brings in artists, scholars, and historians to give talks to its students and the public.

The 2019 fellows, Texas-based Libby Bland and California-based Sarah Rafael García, will be mentored throughout their year-long fellowship by PRH's Ryan N. Dennis, and CASE's director, Sixto Wagan.

The 2019 class of awardees was selected by arts experts based on both the level of the applicants' expertise, and on how their projects would enhance Austin's creative profile.

In a talk titled 'Art, Media and the Digital Dumpster Fire,' Knudson tells the story of Glasstire from its origin as a scrappy startup in 2000 to its status as a nationally known visual art journal. 

ExA's strength is that while it brings in national and international artists, the festival's organizers make a apparent effort to look for local talent in their own backyards.

A point of pride for the Artist Foundation is that they invest in local talent by giving grants directly to artists.
