With the racial reckoning that seems to be emerging, artists are doing their part, as they always have, being the polished mirror in which society must look, and hopefully find the truth staring back.

Members and surrounding art networks are encouraged to propose sessions and share ideas and expertise through conversations, panels, workshops, and alternative forms of engagement.

This year, the Art Car Experience was held at The Orange Show World Headquarters in Houston, and Glasstire was there.

Meek is the first Black woman to receive the Texas Artist of the Year honor from Art League Houston.

The grant-funded position seeks a candidate to assist HCCC's Curator Kathryn Hall in developing, executing, and managing exhibitions. Deadline is June 14.

Art League Houston and Blue Star Contemporary in San Antonio are two other Texas arts organizations who have become W.A.G.E. certified since the organization began its program in 2008.

Jurors Rabéa Ballin, Lauren Kelley Oliver, and Vicki Meek have selected Swift and Rucker as the inaugural winners of the 2021 Art As Activism Grant.

I recently visited an antique shop in Houston and discovered several bronze statues from Benin.
