The biannual $3K prize is open nationally to African-American women visual artists, curators, conservators, and art historians. The deadline is June 30.

This year's juror is Glasstire's Editor-in-Chief, Christina Rees.

Each artist will propose three themes for each respective mural, which community members will be able to vote on.

Members and surrounding art networks are encouraged to propose sessions and share ideas and expertise through conversations, panels, workshops, and alternative forms of engagement.

The exhibition, located both inside and outside the shopping center, is billed as "the most women statues ever assembled in one location, at one time."

The show opens June 18, and will feature 212 works by 182 artists.

Meek is the first Black woman to receive the Texas Artist of the Year honor from Art League Houston.

The grant-funded position seeks a candidate to assist HCCC's Curator Kathryn Hall in developing, executing, and managing exhibitions. Deadline is June 14.
