The funds, totaling $84 million, amount to 1,144 new awards to organizations in all 50 states.

The NALAC grants include $52,000 to Texas artists and organizations.

San Antonio-based artist Michael Menchaca will give a talk at Houston's Lawndale Art Center on Saturday, October 19.

The fund, now in its 14th year, has doubled its awards to artists for the upcoming year. It supports Latinx artists and organizations working in all creative disciplines in the United States and Puerto Rico.
