New Dallas Art Collective Asks Artists to Think Inside the Box

boxSlant, a new Dallas Midtown artist collective at Valley View, is holding an open call for a group exhibition entitled Contained. In the call for entries for the juried show, the group states, “We want you to think inside the box…or crate, vessel, receptacle, or even your own mind.”

The deadline is November 1 and the entry guidelines can be found on Slant’s website. Even with the requirement that artists be 18 or over, it will be tough to outshine an earlier juried show with the exact same theme of containment: the 2009 Contents Under Pressure, organized by the Teen Council of the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston.
