Houston artist Christopher Cascio’s recent work is inspired by quilting and patterns. His past work has used bandanas, concert wristbandsstickers, and beer labels, which have been woven into intricately patterned surfaces. Read an interview with Cascio about his work here.

Gee's Bend Quilt on Etsy by Caster Pettway

A quilt by Gee’s Bend artist Caster Pettway that was for sale on Etsy.

Etsy, the online retailer, recently announced that a number of quiltmakers from Gee’s Bend have opened online storefronts that sell everything from facemasks, to wallhangings, to full-size quilts.


No matter how original, innovative or crazy your idea, someone else is also working on that idea. Furthermore, they are using notation very similar to yours. – Bruce J. MacLennan
