Tribe’s artistic practice asks how media and technology have shaped the way we perform politics. This screening is a series of actor reenactments of protest speeches from the New Left movements of the Vietnam era, including Stokely Carmichael, Cesar Chavez, Angela Davis, Coretta Scott King, Paul Potter, and Howard Zinn. Presented in conjunction with the Menil’s Gandhi’s Legacy: Houston Perspectives and cosponsored by Aurora Picture Show and DiverseWorks, with the artist in attendance.
