This show was actually co-curated by myself (Mark Hougham), and the Spacek siblings (Megan and Jacob) at BLUEorange, with them bringing the artists from Austin, and me bringing a selection of artists working in Houston. It is a rather magical show, with lots of things to be said about Texas’ contribution to the international art community, the two individual cities’ differences, and similarities as well, through slight nuances, and general approach to creating. “Houston vs. Austin” is on view until December 13th, and that evening from 6-9pm there will be a closing reception. Gallery is open 11-6 Tues-Sat. Don’t miss this one folks!
