From the San Antonio Current: “Krisanne Frost, well-known local artist and gallery liaison at Blue Star Contemporary Art Center, died December 6 from cancer at age 61 after being diagnosed just weeks ago. Born in Houston and raised in the Hill Country, she was an early resident in the Blue Star complex, and ran a gallery near the McNay Art Museum. For the past seven years she was the vibrant presence who met visitors at the Blue Star galleries, and was the one visiting artists turned to when setting up their shows.

“Krisanne was the smile and the welcome that greeted everyone that came into Blue Star,” said Bill FitzGibbons, director of Blue Star Contemporary Art Center. “She loved showing visitors the various exhibitions and spending time discussing the artists and their artwork.”

“She was wise beyond this world, and her fiery spirit was reflected upon anyone fortunate enough to encounter her,” said Elizabeth Lyons, Blue Star’s marketing and programming manager. “She danced through life, absorbing every moment without regret. To know her was to love her. She will be terribly missed, but her energetic presence will forever be felt within the walls of Blue Star.”

She will be missed. Krisanne was always there, and devoted to the appreciation of art and artists in Texas. No one can welcome guests and kick out rif-raf at the same time like the beautiful Krisanne Frost.
