Blue Star Contemporary Art Center and Big Medium present Quadri-Poise, an installation by Jade Walker, curated by Virginia Rutledge. Walker installations and sculptures are based on physical aspects of the human body and personal experiences. The opening coincides with Blue Star’s Cinco de Mayo event plus a new exhibition at Blue Star LAB featuring work from Mat Kubo, Scott Proctor, Tim Schmidt, and Troy Stanley, curated by Techan. Jack Gron will be doing a live iron-pour in the Blue Star parking lot. Participating in the 2011 Texas Biennial.

Public discussion focusing on the future of the agency and the complex. The evening will start with an open house in the main gallery from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a facilitated discussion among small groups focusing on topics related to the expansion of the mission and reach of the non-profit Blue Star Contemporary Art Center. James Lifshutz will discuss the physical expansion of the arts complex onto the Big Tex site next door.
