The Lago Vista Independent School District northwest of Austin has a new "exemplary" rating from the Texas Education Agency so of course they celebrated with a giant sand sculpture. Local resident and professional sand sculptor Brad Goll and a team donated their effort to model 25 tons of sand into an enormous viking, the school district’s mascot, in front of Lago Visa Elementary School.
