On the heels of the Asian American show this spring at Blaffer come two more Houston shows with Asian themes: first is Slant, the annual festival of Asian American short films at Aurora Picture Show, coming May 19 & 20; and this July will see RED HOT: Asian Art Today from the Chaney Family Collection at MFAH. RED HOT will be the second show this year at MFAH featuring a private collection of work not from North America; and continues the museum's collaboration with the Chaneys, whose collection presumably the MFAH hopes will grace its new contemporary building someday…
