“The Dallas College Gallery Team excitedly presents Sam Ivie: Visions and Impressions. Sam Ivie uses this exhibit to build upon his exploration of figurative and representational imagery through the creation of carefully and precisely crafted surreal environments. Sam Ivie fills the space surrounding his figures through environmental symbolism that helps craft an ambiguous narrative. In doing so. Ivie seeks to activate a sense of wonder in the viewer. Moreover, Ivie uses this exhibit to reflect on his inclination toward dream-like, but orderly worlds and the possibility that they represent his desire for tranquil and peaceful thought. Join us at Sam Ivie’s reception on February 15th at North Lake Campus!”
