From William Campbell Gallery:
“William Campbell Gallery (WCG) is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibition, Anticipate, showcasing the works of four talented artists new to the Gallery. The diverse collection, on view from February 8 to March 2, 2024, promises to captivate art enthusiasts with its variety of media and unique perspectives. Featured Artists:
● Justin Adian (Brooklyn, NY):
Justin Adian, a Fort Worth native, brings his innovative and multi-dimensional relief paintings to WCG this spring. Adian will showcase his abstract wall-relief paintings that make unique use of plywood, felt, canvas, and enamel paint, resulting in works that push the boundaries of traditional forms. His evolving palette and impactful pieces have garnered attention in prestigious galleries and publications. His work is included in the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and Dallas Museum of Art permanent collections.
● Victoria Gonzales (Fort Worth, TX):
Fort Worth-based artist and Associate Professor of Art at Tarrant County College Northwest Campus, Victoria Gonzales creates emotionally charged paintings that reflect her personal experiences. Gonzales' canvases, filled with color and lines, invite viewers to explore deeper layers of storytelling. Her unique use of thread and sewing machine adds texture to her work, creating a narrative that entwines simple present moments with a complicated backstory.
● Marshall Harris (Fort Worth, TX):
Renowned for his hyperrealist renderings and innovative Book series, Marshall Harris is a native Texan whose career has spanned fine art, museum curation, marketing, and graphics development. He is well-known for his design of the TCU “Flying T,” which represented the school through the early 90s. From larger-than-life portraits to experimental constructions, Harris's work is a testament to his diverse artistic talent and creative exploration.
● Marilyn Jolly (Dallas, TX):
Marilyn Jolly, a Dallas-based artist and retired associate professor of Painting at the University of Texas at Arlington, presents colorful paintings that seamlessly blend order and whimsy. Inspired by seasons, moods, and life chapters, Jolly's work explores the fragility of the body and mind.
