From UTSA:
“Angelica Romo works with the abject theory of feminine rage and their relation to the abject woman. In her application, she challenges the mythical patriarchal view that a woman is terrifying because she is castrated. Angelica focuses on how the world interacts with the womb and its ability to menstruate as the source of women’s pain, trauma, and rage. These descriptions are the aspects that make women, “the other”, “the abject”, simply because they menstruate.”
