September 10 - November 6, 2022
From Love Texas Art:
“Love Texas Art is honored to present Blinders, the first solo exhibition for Fort Worth based painter, Jacob Lovett. Blinders will be on display September 10 – November 6, 2022 at Love Texas Art gallery located at 501 Houston Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. The opening reception will take place during the Fort Worth Art Dealer Association’s Fall Gallery Night on Saturday, September 10, 2022. The gallery will be open Noon – 8pm, with the artist reception from 6-9pm.
In the series Blinders, Lovett explores the concept of truth and our individual journey to find it. He beautifully and delicately renders bronc and bull riders clinging to their opponent, both rider and animal in independent although tethered struggle. Through these works, Lovett is depicting the sometimes-violent struggle to find truth, both with ourselves and with forces in the world around us. In a clean greyscale color palette against crisp white backgrounds, Lovett brings the terms Western and Modern together in each of his 20 oil paintings. Join us on Fall Gallery Night as we celebrate his hard work and first solo exhibition.
“There are three sides to every story: your side, my side and the truth. Regardless of how black and white the situation may seem each side tends to fall into a grey area of what actually occurred. Whichever side you may fall under there is an underlying truth beneath it all. It is our duty as human beings to view things with an open mind and open heart so that we can logically understand a situation for what it truly is rather than what it may seem to be.” – Jacob Lovett
Margery Gossett and I are excited to present Jacob Lovett’s work to our collectors and visitors to the gallery. Jacob has worked tirelessly to produce Blinders, and we think that viewers will enjoy the energy and attention to detail in his paintings. Jacob has dedicated himself to his new career as an artist and it shows.” – Ariel Davis, Owner, Love Texas Art
The gallery requests that guests RSVP via Eventbrite. Social distancing and wearing masks inside the gallery is highly encouraged.
About Jacob Lovett
Jacob Lovett is an American artist, most notably known for his work in single subject realism oil paintings. Born and raised in Fort Worth, TX he was always encouraged by his mother to pursue his artistic interests but never fully committed to his craft until after he graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Marketing.
During the spring of 2018 he discovered his previously unknown talent for painting after a close friend of his asked him to paint a commission piece for their family. Never painted before, he accepted this project without any proper training,
purchased the required materials and looked up “How to Paint” on YouTube. After days of work he delivered them the finished piece. This moment led him to seek out further instruction and he went on to study under Laert Aleksi Xhaferi of Studio Sabka.
After a few hours of weekly instruction from 2018-2020, Lovett turned his hobby into a full time profession. In 2021, Lovett became a full-time artist while simultaneously opening his own shared studio and event space, Muse.
As Lovett takes on this new business venture, he continues to expand his art portfolio daily.
Today, Lovett works primarily in oil paints, using old masters’ techniques in a minimalistic approach to achieve aesthetically clean, yet strikingly realistic compositions. “
