January 5 - 27, 2019
“The Most Recent Work Ever is an exhibition of works by nine artists with roots in Texas. For this exhibition, organizers Tommy and Casey Gregory have worked against the traditional paradigm that ‘everything is bigger in Texas.’ Instead, the work featured in this show is unified by its small scale, while themes and art-making methods diverge greatly. Artists included in this show are Antarctica Black, Elaine Bradford, Jimmy Castillo, Casey Arguelles Gregory, Tommy Gregory, Mat Kubo, Pablo Jimenez Zapiola, Felipe Zapiola, Aaron Muñoz, Kyle Olson, and Gissette Padilla. Small artworks demand particular consideration, regardless of medium. On this especially human scale, detail and craft are intimately evident in every medium from painting to sculpture to photography and printmaking.”
