Artist José Cisneros (1910-2009) creates pen-and-ink illustrations of Mexican, American and Spanish history. He depicted conquistadors in military garb who proudly claimed territory for Spain in Mexico. His drawings of the Mayans, Spanish conquistadores and Franciscan missionaries have explored the history of the Southwestern United States through settlement and industrial development.
The exhibition comes courtesy of the Torch Collection, Houston, Texas and contains over forty works.
