The Mid-America Arts Alliance (M-AAA), which serves Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas, will administer the Cultural Sustainability program for this region. The goal of this pilot program is to support and understand how community-based arts organizations can grow their sustainability. The program will offer operational grants of $50,000, capacity building, and learning opportunities.

The grant opportunity is open to 501(c) organizations, fiscally sponsored artist or ensemble organizations, art-centered businesses (LLC, Partnership, Benefit Corporation, etc.), and state- or federally-recognized tribal governments. Additionally, to be eligible organizations must have annual operating expenses of less than $500,000, have at least three years of arts programming, predominantly serve communities of color, and have been founded by and for a community of color or another underserved community.

M-AAA will host two roundtable sessions to help inform the new grant program. Register to join the October 10 session at 10 a.m. or the October 17 session at 6 p.m.

Applications will open on October 30, 2024, at 10 a.m. and will close on January 10, 2025, at 5 p.m. Awards will be made and announced in April 2025.
