Houston’s Discovery Green park is hosting Houston’s "First Annual Magnificent Seven All Out Ice Sculpting" contest on Saturday, January 10. Beginning at 10 am, Seven selected artists will carve seven tons of ice for seven hours with blowtorches, chainsaws and plenty of elbow grease. A $2000 cash prize awarded at 6 by a panel of celebrity judges. If you follow the sport of ice sculpting, you will recognize some of the nation’s top competitive ice sculptors: Reverend Butter, Gonzo, Buddy Rassmussin, Dan Rebolze and Dean Demaris will all be there.
