Achievement in Art: The Barrett Collection of Texas Art

The Barretts began collecting Texas art about a quarter of a century ago, first focusing on contemporary artists in the Dallas area and expanding to artists throughout the state. In the late 1990s, the Barretts decided to donate a large portion of their collection of Texas art to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and the Dallas Museum of Art, who regifted works to selected smaller art museums in Texas.
