One of the only hands-on, concept-to-completion moviemaking camps for youth in Houston!
Lights! Camera! Action!
Moviemaking Camp is a week-long course designed to teach young filmmakers (ages 13-17) how to use a camera to tell a story. Each student will get hands-on instruction in digital camera operation, lighting, sound and editing while working as a team in the production of a short film. At the end of the camp, the students will premiere their film on the BIG SCREEN for all their family and friends to enjoy!

Instructors: Mike Peña/Kay Ennis

Mike Peña is a writer and filmmaker now returning for his seventh year with SWAMP's Lights, Camera, Action! Moviemaking Camp. He holds an AS in Film from Full Sail University as well as a BFA in Digital Film and Video Production from the Art Institute of Houston. Mike has held various positions on several feature films, short films and music videos. He has written and directed two short films of his own, "Zinovia" and "El Secreto de Emiliana", and a short documentary. Mike currently teaches Audio/Video Production at Cypress Ridge High School, helping future generations of filmmakers discover their potential as storytellers.
