My artistic practice revolves around a candid discussion surrounding mental illness rooted in my personal journey with bipolar disorder. I share my personal experiences throughout my lifetime of mental health issues. My work is a beacon of authenticity and honesty around the often-stigmatized issues of mental illness.
Central to my approach is the use of vibrant colors and textual elements, which punctuate my works with raw emotion and unfiltered narratives. I share singular words and phrases ranging from things I have been told to intrusive thoughts.
My recent work explores the realm of mental hospitals, specifically reflecting on my recent experience in the Psychiatric Hospital. I aim to dismantle misconceptions by portraying the true experience within these often stigmatized spaces. By sharing my own journey, I am fostering empathy and understanding, empowering others to engage in meaningful conversations about mental health without fear or judgment.
Ultimately, my art is a testament to resilience and self-discovery, inviting viewers to confront their own preconceptions and embrace the multifaceted nature of the human psyche. Through dialogue and reflection, I hope to cultivate a community where individuals feel empowered to navigate their mental health journeys with courage and compassion.
