March 6 - April 11, 2009
It’s time again for the Texas Biennial! Now in its third installment, the 2009 edition was curated by Michael Duncan, a Los Angeles-based independent curator and art critic. Also lending a hand with the curatorial duties was Risa Puleo, Assistant Curator of American and Contemporary Art at the Blanton Museum, who co-curated the temporary outdoor projects. Official venues include Women & Their Work and the Mexican American Cultural Center, which will host themed group exhibitions, as well as MASS Gallery, Big Medium, Pump Project Art Complex, and Okay Mountain, which will each feature a solo show by an artist from one of four regions throughout the state. There will also be 7 temporary outdoor artists’ projects sprinkled throughout Austin parkland. There’s a lot going on, especially during opening weekend Mar. 6-8, so be sure to check out all the event details here.
