The University of Texas at El Paso is now offering a minor in Museum Studies, preparing students to compete for jobs in the underpaid museum industry. The 18 credit hour minor includes required generic-sounding courses in Museum Fundamentals (taught in the anthropology department!) and Exhibition Practices, spiced with electives in “Bioarcheology”, the “Explanatory Power of Science”, and “Persuation [sic] and Social Influence.”
