Cutler pressured to resign at SFA?

by Bill Davenport October 20, 2010

Stephen F. Austin University art gallery director Christian Cutler was de-facto fired last week after refusing a request from 1st district Representative Louie Gohmert’s office to host an exhibition, on the grounds that Gohmert was, in Cutler’s words, a "fear monger." Last July Gohmert made a sensational claims that "terror babies" were being purposely birthed in the US to be trained as terrorists who would return as adults with US passports. After his refusal to cooperate with Gohmert, Cutler reports receiving a critical letter from the fiery congressman which was also cc’d to SFA President Baker Patillo. Cutler says he was allowed to resign, but feels that his contretemps with Gohmert was behind it all. Gohmert released a statement denying that he sought Cutler’s removal.
