Captain Alan Bean served as the lunar module pilot on the Apollo 12 mission, man´s second lunar landing. In 1981 he retired from NASA to pursue a career not as "an astronaut who painted, but an artist who used to be an astronaut." To celebrate the opening of the exhibition The Moon: Houston, Tranquility Base Here. The Eagle Has Landed, he will speak about his art and his astronauting, signing copies of his new book: Alan Bean: Painting Apollo, First Artist on Another World at a reception afterwards.
