“Tactile Color features the work of San Antonio artists Chloe Harthan, Sara Homma, and Cassie Gnehm. Each artist explores the rich physicality of color and texture as a tool to communicate themes of womanhood, pop culture, and resilience. Along with traditional painting techniques, the artists incorporate bold fabrics, repurposed surfaces, and vibrant yarn into their multifaceted portraits that often gaze directly at the viewer. Their works extend beyond canonical art history into dialogues of domestic labor, personal culture, and family. While each artist is distinct from each other, their pieces are tied through a collective exploration of womanhood in modernity.”
