From Plush Gallery:
“Plush Gallery is proud to present our fourth solo show by gallery artist C.J. Davis, entitled “Ages.” The artist’s work is well suited to the experimental nature of the gallery, by way of his eclectic creative production, time spent in the local indie music scene, and work as an art teacher.
The artist’s previous solo shows at Plush include: “One Two Free” (2018 / Dallas), “A New Kissed Out Red Float Boat” (2012 / Dallas), and “Calm Manufacturer” (2011 / Santa Fe pop-up space), in addition to a solo show at Oliver Francis Gallery in Dallas, “Hang Your Colors Up Inside” (2013).
C.J. is an artist who is also an art teacher, an instructor and mentor for elementary and middle school aged children. He is from North Carolina, where he was born in 1967. The artist began his professional studies in choral singing, but returned to school somewhat later for visual art, earning his BFA in Sculpture in 2012, as a Summa Cum Laude / University Scholar at the University of Texas at Arlington.
His work is eclectic, as revealed in this exhibition, which will feature 3 mounted photographs, 1 large and 1 small abstract painting, and 4 sculptures with bespoke shelving, including an antler piece with a unique wall mounted prism shaped presentation.
For more information, please contact gallery owner / director Randall Garrett.”
