From the Bath House Cultural Center:
“In their first collaboration with the Bath House Cultural Center, the Texas Jewish Arts Association (TJAA) bring a juried exhibition to the gallery that explores the concept of Natural Diversity. While choosing the theme for their show, TJAA observed that the term natural diversity is sometimes used interchangeably with phrases like life diversity and art diversity. TJAA understands that natural diversity is a common term used in science that generally refers to the variety of fauna and flora but, from an art perspective, the organization believes that the words can also represent the variety of styles that flow naturally from one art medium to another and can also exemplify the wide range of ideas and subject matter that motivate artists to create their works.
This exhibition was juried by Nan Phillips, Kenna Prior, and Sheryl Radman. The jurors selected art pieces by forty-five artists from Texas, California, Kansas, and New Mexico, including works by Atinuke Adeleke, Wendy Barkett, Anne Beletic, Elizabeth Bentley, Gary Bodiford, Wendy Boomhower, Julie Brown, A. Eilene Carver, Angela Corson, Monica Daucourt, Robin Davis, Marc Dominus, Jeane Elliott Clayton, Julie England, Suedabeh Ewing, Petra Farr, Xenia Fedorchenko, Barbara Fontaine-White, Tish Garceau, Gwynn Getto, Robert Gilbert, Susan Harmon, Donna Harris, Stefanie Held, Laurie Huff, Veronique Jonas, Kathryn Kneip, Kimberly Kort, Paulette Martsolf, Suzy Moritz, Gloria Munson, Ivette Ramos Levy, Esther Ritz, Rebecca Schnitzer, Paula Selzer, Ginger Shanholt, Irene Sheytman, Terri Silver, Jane Cornish Smith, Faina Teplitskaya, Hava Toobian, Jyoti Tyagi, Chip VanPelt, Stephen Weinberg, Mike White, and Keith Williams.
