From the Galveston Artist Residency:
“What is the Festival of the Beautiful?
The Festival of the Beautiful is a chance to slow down and look inward.
There is no right or wrong way to participate.
We start the day off with native plants and meditation.
We share food, drink and music with our friends both old and new.
We sing William Blake in the style of Allen Ginsberg together.
We dress up like our idea of the beautiful.
We pass out homemade gifts and look at art.
We invite you to join us in our festivities. Come for an event or two, or come all day. The Festival of the Beautiful is a family friendly festival, and the level of participation is entirely up to you. The festival is entirely free, but donations and tips are greatly appreciated!
