December 16 - January 10, 2023
From MECA HOUSTON:
“The Art of portraiture dates back from prehistoric times through ancient Egypt; the Fall of the Roman Empire; the Dark Ages; and the European Renaissance. Throughout each era, art patrons including Pharaohs, Caesars, and the Medici Popes, commissioned and challenged the skills of artists to elevate portraiture to a level never seen before in the world.
Today modern portrait painting has continued to excel and flourish beyond the limits of technology. Modern portraiture not only records an individual’s appearance and personality, it also gives people the insight as to how artists view the world.
