From the gallery:
“Broken Bottle marks the 35th anniversary of Texas artist Michael Wynne’s first show. The artist’s work has been in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe.
In 2014 an interview of the artist by Pedro Vélez appeared in the Whitney Biennial catalog.
He is among the artists featured in Rodney Roger’s recently released book, Out the Window, of photographs of artists and their studios.
G Spot Gallery
G Spot Contemporary features local, regional and national artists who are unafraid to challenge convention. G Spot is a space with a decidedly grassroots approach to cultural exchange.
Gallery owner and artist Wayne Gilbert has owned and operated more than five art galleries in Houston, over four decades. Wayne’s seasoned approach to creative culture makes G Spot a worthwhile stop. The gallery’s rapidly changing exhibitions showcase eclectic and often provocative work by outsider, emerging and established artists from all parts of the globe.
Located in the Heart of Houston’s Historic Heights District, Wayne Gilbert’s ‘spot’ is a comfortable place to engage experience and reconnect either alone or with friends. We celebrate a new artist and reveal unseen work each month with an opening reception on the first Saturday of each month.”
