A solo exhibition featuring work by Angelica Raquel Martinez.
From the gallery:
“FL!GHT Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Artist Angelica Raquel Martinez. Tell Me It Haunts You Too opens October 1st and will remain on view for the month by appointment. All work is available to purchase through FL!GHT Gallery. To ensure everyone’s safety, masks and appropriate social distancing is required while in the gallery. Laredo born and raised, Angelica’s work reimagines folklore and familial stories she heard growing up while living close to the border of Mexico. Her work explores themes like death, mourning, and the importance of relationships long after they end. Using a variety of techniques and materials, Angelica’s multidisciplinary studio practice is composed of paintings, drawings, fibers, sculpture, and installation.
Angelica has exhibited statewide and nationally, most recently in Poetica Textil at The Mexican American Cultural Center in Austin Tx, Hoarders House at Field Projects Gallery in New York NY, 2020 Rising Eyes of Texas at Rockport Center for The Arts in Rockport Tx, and the 2019 Biennial: Textile + Fiber at The Amarillo Museum of Art. In addition to exhibiting her work, Angelica Raquel has also curated a group exhibition, Tooth & Claw, which centered around the theme of the Crocodilian, at Terminal 136 in San Antonio Tx. Angelica received her BFA from Texas State University in 2016 and most recently earned her MFA at The University of Texas at San Antonio Tx, where she currently lives and works.”
