Corsicana unveils a commissioned sculpture by Houston-based artist Spencer Evans honoring G. W. Jackson, an important Black leader in the city's history.
The work in this show accomplishes what all meaningful art does: it builds a deeper recognition of the pain, the beauty, and the essential value of life.
Spencer Evans calls it “a blessing and a privilege to be called upon” to create this monument in his home state.
Not that the artists are advocating for erecting more monuments.
