From Canopy Projects:
“In There is Life Beyond, I continue my exploration with flora. The themes expressed in this showing relate to plant intelligence, the afterlife, consciousness, and sustainability.
Repurposing forgotten dismembered tree trunks, I shine light on these lost limbs, and new life emerges. I find myself staring and envisioning how these trees would be thriving. By manifesting what I see as the living energy source, I feel connected to the earth.
I hope to start dialogues about the drastic change in our planet’s surface that we are witnessing.
Artist Statement
As an Environmental artist, I seek answers to understand why our unsustainable values are destroying the home which provides us life. My awe of earth is the light that guides my creative endeavors. My immersive media installations explore the human story and its impacts on the health of the earth. The aesthetic foundation of my work involves capturing the unique visual patterns, sequences, and movements visible within nature. I’m passionate about playing within the gray spaces between physical and digital. I use contemporary technology as a way to engage, connect or interact with multiple senses of the viewer, to reach the most important one, spirit. I intend to help find harmony between nature and humans. To reconnect us back to mother earth.”
