From Mighty Fine Arts:
“During those dark days of the lockdown Mr Ant Colony shuttered himself away in his underground bunker and his only human contact was the US Mail. In his solitude he instigated an art exchange where he sent prints to his mail list and in return would receive art back. After many postings and packages he amassed a collection that he deemed worthy to share with the art public. His quarantine collection is not only a reminder of that dismal episode but an inspiration on how to stay positive and creative through the worst of it. Some of the mail artists featured include Kelley Cheek, Courtney Googe, Moni Bell, Elizabeth Mellott, Sara Cardona, Heyd Fontenot and John Held Jr.
Also on display are a selection of work by Steve Cruz created during lockdown. Eschewing the whiskey, substances, porn and Netflix he figured he had better have something to show for all the downtime. An idle mind is of course the devil’s playground.
And on opening night! A Wordspace Artspeak musical performance by “The High Five”! Featuring former players from Silver Skull this new lineup will appear fresh and improved and promising to scare the bejeezus out of the Covid! This event is for the vaxxed only! I don’t have to tell you!
