OMG! The great Horace Pippen is used to inspiring and having his work ‘cribbed’ even as he resides on the other side of the Jordan. Rarely does he get showcased or acknowledged. Carl Andre, rest his soul, saw something in those quaint interiors depicting black rural life and then up jumped the boogie, his floor paintings appeared. Bert Long, rest his soul, and I would talk about that particular ‘crib’ all the time. Thank you, thank you Glasstire for showing work by this amazing painter.
