Plans continue to move forward for the adaptive re-use of the planet’s first-ever enclosed sports stadium, the Houston Astrodome. The behemoth structure that irrevocably shook the world of architecture may soon have a new lease on life – as a massive sound stage and motion picture production facility called Astrodome Studios. Greater Houston Global Management Group, LLC (GHGMG), a company formed specifically to get the ball rolling, launched a comprehensive web site for the proposed studios last week. And why not? Glamorous Houston anti-communist Joanne King Herring is reportedly all for it.
