Our little Sala is all growed up

by Rainey Knudson August 22, 2007

The San Antonio space Sala Diaz has consistently been one of the best (if not *the* best) artist-run spaces in Texas for an astonishing 12 years now. Run first by founder Alejandro Diaz, then by Hills Snyder, SD has hosted some of the most memorable site-specific installations in its funky run-down house on the edge of the King William district. Some highlights include Chris Turbuck and Enrique Martinez this year, and in years past, Justin Boyd, Karen Mahaffy, Rob van der Schoor, Randy Wallace, Tracey Snelling, Melissa Longnecker, and especially Rae Culbert's awesome 2002 installation Tora Bora. Officially we don't promote fundraisers on Glasstire, but since SD has just now gotten their 501(c)3 status and is having their first-ever event (a bowling party, very cute), we thought we'd give them a shout out. They're worth supporting for sure.
