From Asia Society Texas Center:
“During this time of quarantine in New York City, artist Miya Ando has deeply engaged with the material indigo to develop an entirely new body of work. Using indigo as a way to record time during the NYC lockdown, Ando is creating a kind of calendar comprised of drawings of the moon and night sky made with indigo, and micronized pure silver on Kozo paper. In this unique opportunity to join the artist remotely in her New York studio, the webcast will feature her new works, her reflections on being in the studio over these recent months, and what the history of indigo brings to these contemporary expressions.”
