From Wally Workman Gallery:
“On Saturday, March 5th, Wally Workman Gallery opens a two person show with collage artists Lauren Jaben and Becky Joye. Jaben uses found materials to create works that are both contemplative in process as well as form; meticulous parts become an interrelated whole. It is the same with Joye’s work. Her exuberantly quilted structures are a metaphor for the varied but universal human experience amidst the ongoing pandemic. Previously sewn up safe havens bloom towards the light, representing the simultaneous want to protect but the overwhelming need to connect.
Established in 1980 and located in a 100 year old historic house in Austin’s art district, the Wally Workman Gallery specializes in emerging and collected talent.
