“Nacimientos: Traditional Nativity Scenes from Mexico is a presentation of traditional nacimientos, or nativity scenes, which are constructed all over Mexico during the Christmas season and are powerful examples of the blending of indigenous pre-Columbian and Spanish Colonial beliefs and methods of making. The exhibition features a rich tradition of handmade nacimientos from the Museum’s Permanent Collection and loans from Don and Polly Johnson.”
