Bert's Big Book Benefit June 16th


Come one come all the Bert's Big Book Benefit at ElDorado Ballroom @ Project Row Houses, 2310 Elgin, Houston TX 77004, June 16th from 7-10pm! Tickets are $175 or two for $300. (payable to H.A.F.)

Members of the Houston art community are in the process of raising funds to cover the cost of production of a new book about the art of Bert L. Long, Jr.

All proceeds will be directed to the Houston Artists Fund, a non-profit organization which has commissioned a 20,000 word essay about Bert from Thomas McEvilly, which will anchor the book. Funds will go towards photography, design, and printing of the book.

The fundraiser will feature a chili cookoff, a Fine Art Lottery, and music by DJ Tierney Malone.

Fine Art Lottery! A chance to win one of 20 pieces of art!! Contributing artists: The Aaart Guys, Dixie Friend Gay, Terrel James, Lucas Johnson, Paul Kittelson, Sharon Kopriva, Bert L. Long Jr., Jesse Lott, Tierney Malone, David McGee, Floyd Newsum, Ed Ruscha, George Smith, Al Souza, Richard Stout, James Surls, Randy Twaddle, Nestor Topchy, and two others.

Rules: Each lottery ticket represents a chance to win one of twenty pieces of art. When your ticket is pulled at random from all the tickets, you choose one of the artworks from the lot. The first winner has choice out of all the lots and each subsequent winner has choice of the remaining lots. You do not have to be present to win, however you must arrange for someone to select a work on your behalf. Multiple ticket holders can win multiple times.
