“Sev Coursen is an artist working in photography, sculpture and film and video production. Based in Austin, Texas; his work has been presented in exhibitions, screenings and performances in the United States and Europe.
Sev Coursen’s portable objects are self-contained sculptures that can be expanded for presentation in a variety of display environments and easily collapsed for storage and transport. The design and development of folding objects is a longtime component of his art production.
Expandable features of the portable objects range in complexity from basic hinged elements to hand-milled wooden articulated hinge mechanisms that can be adjusted to multiple display configurations.
Window Dressing XLV: Portable Objects will feature the debut of two newly completed folding sculptures and a selection of additional objects from this unique body of work.
