“Ernesto León, born in Venezuela, pursued studies at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid, the Center for Restoration and Conservation at INAH Mexico, and New York University, USA. He is a multidisciplinary artist deeply engaged in visual research. A natural-born researcher, Ernesto León has dedicated decades to exploring and reinterpreting the reality of being and its environment within the field of visual arts. His creative practice encompasses nature, culture, rational thought, and instinct across time, using diverse media such as painting, sculpture, photography, video, and sound. Through his work, he seeks to uncover hidden meanings and generate new interpretations of the world around us. Currently, he combines visual research with philosophical studies, exploring into the relationship between image and thought. Throughout his career, he has developed a unique language that fuses multimedia with technical expertise, and plastic expression with conceptual inquiry. His work consistently aiming to reveal new perspectives on reality and human thought, from the concrete to the abstract. Ernesto León has established a distinguished career in contemporary art, with over 25 solo exhibitions and numerous groups shows. His work is part of public and private collections and museums around the world. He is represented in prestigious collections such as that of the Metropolitan Museum in New York, among others. He has also published books on his artistic and conceptual work, consolidating his international artistic vision.”
