“David Dike Fine Art is proud to present "Survey in Time," an exhibition featuring the works of renowned Texas-based artists Frank Brown and Martin Delabano. This 20-year survey offers art enthusiasts a unique opportunity to explore the artistic journey of two distinguished local artists. Frank Brown With a career spanning several decades, Brown creates works that capture the waking world of the dreamer. Figures become actors on a stage, performing allegorical dramas inspired by the human condition, both personal and universal. Born in 1957, Frank Brown grew up in Northern Indiana and began drawing at at an early age. He holds a BFA degree from Indiana/Purdue University and a MA degree from New Mexico State University. Since 1985 he has lived and worked in the Dallas area with his wife, fellow artist Denise M.A. Brown. He has taught Art at Bishop Lynch High School since 2000 and is also a dual enrollment Art professor for Eastfield College.
Martin Delabano A pivotal figure in the Texas arts community, Delabano has been exhibiting his artwork since 1979, working primarily with found material since 2000. His father, Barney Charles Delabano, was the noted Curator of Installation at the Dallas Museum of Art for thirtythree years, which profoundly influenced Martin's artistic development. Growing up surrounded by art, he was exposed to international artists and important members of the Texas art scene. Delabano's work explores themes of identity, landscape, and personal history, often incorporating elements that reflect his deep artistic roots. With an undergraduate degree in Sculpture from East Texas University and a Master of Art from the University of New Mexico, he has established himself as both an artist and educator. After working as a shop foreman at Refinery Casting Company, Martin became an art teacher at St. John's Episcopal School in 1990, where he continues to teach and inspire young artists.”
