“A brief description of the work and/or artist(s) is very helpful: The South Dallas Cultural Center and Pencil on Paper Gallery proudly present, A good end, a solo exhibition by Jessica Vollrath, opening on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the South Dallas Cultural Center in the Arthello Beck Gallery. This highly anticipated exhibition presents Vollrath’s latest body of work. Vollrath works primarily in oil paint and is focused on the sacred narratives. She is figuratively trained and began her early career as a portrait painter for hire. With her love of light, color and the figure, Vollrath tells familiar narratives of humankind’s eternal search for its connection to immortality. A good end extends her ongoing dialogue with figuration and the intimate, inviting viewers into her world. “Jessica Vollrath’s work embodies a poetic tension between fragility and resilience,” says Dr. Valerie Gillespie, gallerist at Pencil on Paper Gallery. “Her compositions offer a visual language that is both warm and expansive, asking us to reconsider how we mark moments.” The opening reception on Saturday, April 5, 2025, will provide an opportunity to engage with the artist and experience the work firsthand. The exhibition will be on view through May 1, 2025, with additional programming to be announced.”
